Here is a video of Emma's introduction to the Christmas tree. We expected her to love it but she was actually afraid of it. I'm sure she will warm up to it very quickly, which is why we only put ornaments on the top half of the tree. :)

Chicken Elmo
Well, Chicken Elmo has been dead in our house for a while now and we made the mistake of replacing the batteries this weekend. The new batteries have made it so much louder and more annoying! Of course Emma has been playing with it the entire weekend. I think it may be time to take it back to Grammie's house! :)

Trivia Answer: It's Greek To Me!
I fed Emma some hummus on pita bread the other day and she went crazy for it. She has also tried a pasta salad at one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants and really enjoyed it. She can sometimes be a picky eater so I was surprised she liked things with such strong flavors.

Fish Face
One of Emma's favorite books is called "Ten Little Ladybugs". She likes to "sting" herself when she sees the bee and whenever we see the fish I always puff my cheeks out and make a fish face. This is Emma's attempt at doing it as well - it cracks me up.

New Words
You all were right on the Emma trivia - her newest words are baby, no and shoe. Here is a video of her saying "shoe" but I have yet to get videos of the others. She mostly says "no" when she's doing something she's not supposed to, like playing with the floor vents. She says "baby" when looking at pictures of them in books or pictures of herself. She has also learned to say "Tucker" this past week too, she says "TuTu", it's so cute!

Our Little Fashionista
Emma has discovered where I keep my headbands and she loves to wear them around the house. It takes her a while to decide which one she wants and they usually always seem to coordinate with her outfit, she even knows how to put them on herself. :)

Weekend In Kansas City
One of our good friends got married this past weekend and Aric was a groomsman in the wedding. We enjoyed spending time with our friends for a few days and had a great time at the wedding. Emma did absolutely wonderful during the ceremony and reception. As you will see below, Emma was a dancing machine and she really seemed to draw a crowd on the dance floor!
Dancing Queen
Emma was soooo excited when the music started at the reception that she danced and ran around for 2 hours straight! I had trouble getting a video of her best dance moves since it was so dark but this one is pretty good, especially since it's a song that she loves to dance to - thanks to Aunt Katy! The "chopping wood" dance move seemed to be her favorite for the night.

I'm 1 Year Old Today!!!!!
It's so hard to believe that our little Emma Bean is 1 year old today! She has been such a blessing and so much fun. I was rocking her tonight and I happened to look at the clock at the exact time that she was born and got very weepy! That was such a wonderful moment that I will never forget. Aric was a bit overshadowed today but I want to wish him a Happy 28th B-day too, it is so neat that my sweeties share a birthday!

Leaves!
Emma and I were out in the front yard this evening playing in the leaves. Three kids came walking down the street with rakes and they asked me if they could rake my yard for $1 each and I obliged of course. They were so cute and polite. One of them asked how old Emma was and when I told him that her 1 year b-day was tomorrow they all sang her "Happy Birthday" and she just loved it. When they were done I put Emma in the big leaf pile for a picture and the youngest boy asked if they could be in the picture too - it turned out very cute! It is so nice to live in a neighborhood with such nice kids, we didn't quite experience that pleasure when we lived in Olathe!

The Cox Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic is open for business!!!!!
After an extremely exhausting week Aric's new clinic is up and running and we couldn't be more excited about it! The office looks wonderful, although we still have a few more decorating things to get done. Aric is being joined in his office by Kristy Schrag, Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine and Katy McMillen, Certified Massage Therapist. Poor Aric - having to work with the in-laws. :) I couldn't be more proud of Aric and I know that he will be very successful in his new clinic!
